Installation Instructions for Wireless
Laptops running Windows XP & VISTA
Note: for Windows Vista, with a few additional steps (noted at the appropriate point in these instructions) the process is essentially the same as for XP.
In order to use password authentication to print through VUprint, you will need to install the CSprint client on your laptop. It IS possible to print without installing the client, but only if the VUprint printer you install on your laptop is controlled by a Print Release Station.
Installing the CSprint Client Software
In addition to downloading and installing the '''CSprintClient''' software,
you will need to define and install the printer(s) that you will want to
use in VUprint.
Locating VUprint printers is much easier if your laptop
is configured to run NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
Locate and Install the desired VUprint printer
Installing a Print Release Station Printer, without the CSprint client.
You will need to ascertain from the chart of printers, a printer in your desired location that is controlled by a Print Release Station as well as username/password authentication.
Note that not all VUprint printers may be controlled by a Print Release Station. In the table listing the sharenames, those printers that do go through a PRS are designated in the chart with "PRS" next to the share name.
Install that printer using the instructions above.
When printing to that printer, no prompt will appear. You will need to
go to the Print Release Station associated with that printer to authenticate
and release the job from the queue.
