Instructions for laptops with
non-Windows Operating systems

For Mac computers (OS X)

Add the printer

  1. Go to System Preferences and then to Print & Fax
  2. Click on the "+" symbol below the printer list to add a printer.
  3. In the Printer Browser window:
    * Change the Protocol to Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    * Enter 129.59.95.49 in the address field
    * In Queue enter the name of the Sharename for the printer you are adding.

    Note that not all VUprint printers may be controlled by a Print Release Station. In the table listing the sharenames, look for one with (PRS) next to the sharename.

    * Enter an appropriate description for Name and Location
    * Specify the make and model of the printer in the Print Using section
  4. Click Add
  5. Specify any additional settings in the next window

To Print

  1. Within your application, select the VUprint sharename you wish to use to print.
  2. Click Print
The print job will be sent to the VUprint printer. The print queue on your computer will show "no job printing" after the print job was sent.
  1. Go to the Print Release Station associated with that printer.
* You will need to select your print job in the queue on the PRS
* Click Print and authenticate (with a card swipe or VUnet ID/password)
to release the print job.
