In order to print from a public printer under VUPrint you must have activated, and have funds in, your Commodore Cash account.
Non-Vanderbilt patrons who have library access cards, also are able to activate and fund Commodore Card accounts for printing and photocopying.
Alumni and library access card holders will not have a VUNet ID and e-password. Their authentication for VUprint will be done using a username and pin combination assigned by the Commodore Card office.
If you have an access card, but have never added money to your account before, please follow these steps:
- Go to the Commodore Card Office in Sarratt. Give them an email address to add to your card account. This email address will serve as your username for VUprint.
- Add money to your account while you are at the office.
- The Card office will issue you a PIN number. This will serve as your password for VUprint.
After accomplishing these three things, you will be able to print using your Username/PIN combination, OR using a Print Release Station and swiping your card.
To add money to your account, you can always go to the Card office during office hours and add funds. You may find it more convenient to use the Web interface.
In order to add money to your account via the on-line web interface, there are several additional steps you must take.
- No sooner than day after you registered your e-mail address with the card office, you will be able to register on the web page, using that email address.
- Go to the Card Office Login page.
- Click on the link in the upper right corner Don't have a VUnet ID?
- Enter the email address you registered with the card office. Click "next"
- If your email address is validated, you will receive a confirmation page, and an email message will be sent to that address, with a SECOND PIN number.
- This second PIN number in conjunction with your email address, can then be used to log in to the Commodore Card web page to add money to your account.
Once you have logged into the Commodore Card page, you may well wish to CHANGE this second PIN to match the PIN given earlier. The first PIN received at the Card Office will remain your password for printing, so you may want to change the Second PIN to match that, so you can use the same username/PIN combination for both printing and logging on to the web page.
To change your web login PIN, on the right side of the page, under "Personalize"
click on the "Change Password" link. You will need to type in the NEW password, and then type it in a second time for verification. Then click Update.
